Here you can find the speakers who will relate at the SFSCon.

 Leon Shiman

Leon Shiman, Advisor to Commonwealth of Massachusetts (USA) Government IT Division on Policy and Integration of Free Software. Already invited as speaker in various international events, he will tell us about his experience of the migration to open document format (ODF) at the Massachusetts Government. The Massachusetts Government utilizes by now compulsory the ODT-format as a standard.

 Georg Greve

Georg Greve, president of the Free Software Foundation Europe, an organisation working on all the Eurpoean aspects of Free Software, especially on the GNU project, and actively supporting the development of Free Software and the extension of GNU-based systems such as GNU/Linux. Furthermore it provides politicians, lawyers and journalists a competence center for the legal, political and social future of Free Software. Greve will refer about the structure and the activities of the FSFEurope.

 

Jonas Öberg, Free Software Foundation Europe, will present the newly started SELF project. The aim of this project is to create a platform which shall be used for the collection and the creation of material for education with and on Free Software.

Stefano Maffulli

Stefano Maffulli, president of the Free Software Foundation Europe, Chapter Italy. He is also the coordinator of the Fellowship Programme, which aim it is to offer a platform in order to contribute to the activities of the FSFEurope.

 


Jens Klein, Blue Dynamics and Plone community, he will announce the results of the introductive event Plone Sprint (2006 - Nov. 06th – 9th). The solution the participiants are going to develop in the developer camp will give the Plone users the chance to work on their CMS also off-line. The modifications resulting from it will semi-automatically be updated by the online CMS.


 

Enrico Zini, main developer of the biggest GNU/Linux distribution Debian. He will refer about Debian. His presentation will be about the Debian users, why they use it, how it works and how you can interact with the Debian Project.

 Massimo TorresaniSimone Padovan

Massimo Torresani and Simone Padovan, Department of Informatics, Autonomous Province of Bolzano, will present FROG, an application framework which they recently published as Free Software.



 

Werner Koch, Free Software Foundation Europe, main developer of GnuPG. On Friday he will hold a talk about encoding technologies. On Saturday he will coordinate a workshop on the use of encoding technologies and show every Fellow of the FSFEurope how the Crypt-Card works. Every fellow of the FSFEurope gets one.

 

Alessandro Rubini, (co-) author of the bestseller „Linux Device Drivers“. During his workshop he will highlight the variety of applications of embedded GNU/Linux on various devices.

 
 



Consalvo Cattuto is employed at the University in Perugia. He is working on the further development of an E-Learning platform, called ILIAS, in order to introduce it in the health districts in Latin America. He will refer about the project and the technical details of the adaptation of the platform which have permitted to upgrade the personnel of the health districts.
